The downturned brim is wider at the front, then tapers down towards the back. There is a draped band around the crown in a lighter brown with a pinkish hue. A beautiful brown veil with large dots finishes the look! Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. A size 22 1/2 label is attached to the headband. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect!
