Vintage Beaded Caplet Hat, PIERCE Designer, 1950s Glamour - Etsy。Truly a breathtaking piece of history. This hat consists of a flat black fabric crown which is gathered together to create a ripple-like effect (ruched). The brim is in the form of a \'doughnut\' and is padded on the inside. On the outside it is completely covered by black sequins on the visible top, and the bottom is ruched just like the crown. There is a large fabric bow at the back, and a fabric covered elastic to keep the hat in place, typical of the era. This is a masterpiece of creation and must have been custom-made for a socialite at the time. 1930s hats were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Note: There are tiny remains of what would have been a size label, though this hat fits on top of the head, so there is no need for sizing...see photo. This is one of the oldest hats in ur collection, and is in pristine vintage condition, lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Mannequin not for sale.
