Vintage-inspired black velveteen hat with 1930s trim。This is an extraordinary 1930\'s piece of millinery history! The crown is made of black felt, and it extends ton the back, creating a cap effect. The brim is made of black velvet on top, and black felt on the bottom. There are 3 embossed felt strips at the front on top of the brim, plus to outstanding black feather \"wings\". The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Imprint inside the hat: ULTRA, 100% wool...the rest is not legible. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
