Vintage Hat 1940s Vintage Hats for Women for sale | eBay。This is truly a fashion statement from the fabulous 1940s\'! The hat is made of brown felt. The crown is medium height, and features 2 indentations on the top. A short brim surrounds the crown, elongating at the back, and providing an area to secure the hat to the hair via an included hatpin. There is also an elastic band attached to the inside to help keep the hat in a tilted position. An outstanding feature of the hat is the feather brown/pink feather \"bird\" attached to one side of the crown. The long tail projecting back is made of pink feathers. There is a brown veil with small brown dots. This veil has been repaired. Photo #6 shows an example. The veil can be tucked around the crown or removed without detracting the beauty of the hat. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these. 30s Fashion certainly seemed fussier than the 1920s with its relentless ornaments of bows, trims and frills.
